Operation HART
(Help for Animals in Rescue Transition)
is the future development project for a kennel facility to be located somewhere locally in
Orange, San Bernardino or LA county where small dogs at risk of euthanasia in the shelter system
can be rescued by OCPoundhounds and brought to a safe haven for physical and emotional recouperation,
attention to any medical needs and shelter while they wait to transition in to a home environment,
either as a foster dog or as a final adoption. This project is intended
to give at-risk small dogs the best chance for future forever homes and lives.
Sadly, there is a critial shortage
of committed foster families, and the need for a kennel sanctury has become critically necessary for OCPH to continue to do
important rescue work. This would be a sanctuary to immediately take a dog out
of the shelter system and off the euthanasia list, many times purely for lack of space in the shelters.
With Operation HART in
place, OCPoundhounds would never have to say “NO” again to a small dog in urgent need of rescue.
Yes is one of the sweetest, most wonderful words in
the English Language. Help us to say “Yes” with your generous support of our kennel project.
Operation
HART is going to take a lot of hard work and effort, but we believe this will be the most rewarding
project that OCPoundhounds has on the books to date.
